Policy Connect will be hosting a parliamentary summit on sustainability policy and practices in the healthcare sector, chaired by Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick.
Context
The health system is a key part of the UK economy, providing jobs and productivity and supporting the health of the workforce, but with this comes significant resource consumption, waste and deleterious social and environmental impact.
Burgeoning health service use entails increased costs and waste; how the new government can sustainably manage increasing demand, meet quality of care, and ensure safety while reducing waste in the system will require careful consideration.
