International E‑Waste Day—launched by the WEEE Forum in 2018—aims to raise awareness about e‑waste and encourage responsible management. Year after year, participation has grown, with this year being its 8th year!
This years theme is: Recycle your e-waste – it’s critical!
As the demand for smartphones, electric vehicles, solar panels, and other technology continues to surge, so does the need for the materials that make them work. This year, International E-Waste Day will spotlight Critical Raw Materials (CRMs), the elements that are mined in only a handful of countries and that are crucial to foster the green and digital transition (read more here about this year’s topic).
