ESA Webinar | Unlocking Energy from Waste Heat
Join us for this free online session exploring how Energy from Waste (EfW) can play a vital role in decarbonising the UK’s heat supply.
With the Government targeting 20% of heating from heat networks by 2050, EfW sites present a major opportunity to deliver low-carbon, reliable, and cost-effective heat to homes and businesses. Although EfW facilities operate across the UK, only a small proportion currently export heat — representing a significant untapped potential for achieving net zero goals.
This webinar marks the launch of the Environmental Services Association’s (ESA) new “Guide to Energy from Waste Heat Offtake” and updated Heat Network Prospectus, created to support planners and policymakers in identifying EfW heat opportunities across the UK.
An expert panel featuring voices from Government, industry, and the heat network sector will explore the technical, commercial, and regulatory considerations of EfW heat, including developing policies such as heat network zoning that aim to unlock the full potential of this resource.
