Policy and regulation for recycling and waste treatment are devolved matters. In addition to our work with UK Government, the ESA also has a regional structure to ensure we are able to best represent our members’ interests within the governmental and regulatory contexts of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The ESA membership includes organisations with a large geographic footprint and operations covering all four nations of the United Kingdom. Additionally, we also have members which solely operate in each of the devolved administrations.

Through our regional ESA organisations, we ensure that we are best able to represent our members interests; advise on emerging policy and regulatory requirements; share best practice; and facilitate commercial networking within Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Each of our sector-leading regional ESA organisations is governed by a committee of members with commercial and operational interests in the respective Home Nations and their devolved administrations. These committees are supported by dedicated support from the ESA Executive Team.

If you or your organisation would like to find out more about how the ESA can support your organisation in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, please contact the relevant members of the Executive team below.
