To support policy development and delivery of our organisational strategic priorities, the ESA regularly undertakes research to build a robust evidence base – often making the case for policy change or to support investment.
We regularly survey our own members and peers across a range of topic areas to provide quick feedback to regulators and policy-makers about the impact of potential policy decisions, and we often commission technical experts to undertake more in-depth research around key priorities – for example, on decarbonisation, biodiversity and waste crime.
ESA research findings are regularly cited by journalists and policy-makers in nationally significant publications and we are proud to be able to contribute in this way to the public discourse around the recycling and waste treatment sector.
