Responding to the Chancellor's Pre-Budget Statement today, ESA Chief Executive Dirk Hazell has welcomed the ten year extension of the Renewable Obligation to 2037, and has called on Government to accelerate green procurement to strengthen recycling markets.
Commenting, Mr Hazell said: “There is much for environmentalists to welcome in the Chancellor's Pre-Budget Statement.
“However, it would be a helpful strengthening of recycling markets if the Government - and, indeed, the Scottish Government - could now announce an acceleration of green procurement plans as this would provide British jobs."
