The Scottish Environmental Services Association ("SESA") works with partners in Scotland's public and private sectors to implement Scotland's national waste strategy and develop economically and environmentally sustainable waste management for Scotland.
Driven by EU environmental law, we are a leading partner in Scotland’s transformation from a disposal to a recycling society: since Devolution, we have helped Scotland’s household recycling rate to increase more than five fold to above 32%.
SESA has been offered a key role in assisting the Scottish Government develop a new National Waste Management Plan. While SESA supports a review of the waste plan, it continues to press to ensure that the review does not become a reason to avoid making pressing decisions now about the need for more waste management infrastructure.
